Q: Hi,
What do you think about bomber jackets? Are they too macho or
try-hard? I am at University/College training to be a pilot and I have a motobike so at least I have the reasons to wear one.
What do you think of these?
A: well you have all the reasons to be wearing one, and the first one especially looks like a jacket from top gun, and you're going to be a pilot... so there ya go.
if you think its nice then go for it! there are always going to be people who don't
We have been receiving many enquiries on the origins of the sack suit and slack jacket. To lovers of the Ivy style, this will be common knowledge since they were probably initiated into this taste preference growing up by their fathers or introduced to its virtues while at school on the East Coast within hallowed halls.
What marks out the sack cut from others is its simplicity and comfort. The cut is straight not pulled at the waist. The armholes are high to give maximum movement to the arm and shoulder. Some people preferred 2 and others a 3 button front, clearly in horn. The buttonholes function, and there is an opening slit into the lapel for a flower. In the shoulder, there is minimal padding if any, depending on the tailor. The best style icon of this look is former President Jack Kennedy. The look was glorified in the early Sixties, and even adored the backs of blues and jazz musicians. There was something special about this style, its grace, and ease. You needn’t have been to the manor born, but it was clearly the uniform of the elite. Aspiring individuals all looked to these individuals for their own personal menswear cues.
