A: I bundle the hangers together parallel to each other and then rubber band them tightly. I don't know if that helps.

Green Business Network considers 'green procurement' program

The Green Business Network of Springfield is exploring creation of a procurement program that would help local companies and organizations buy recyclable and environmentally friendly products.

Organizers of the 2-year-old network also said during an update of program activities on Wednesday that they are looking into the addition of paint to the list of products that are accepted for recycling.

The collection center is at 11th and Madison streets.

City Water, Light and Power energy services manager Bill Mills said the procurement program remains only a concept, but the goal would be a network of buyers and sellers for green products from paper to cleaning agents.
