Winning close games hasn't exactly been the team's strongsuit. West Michigan was just 2-5 since May 3 in games decided by two runs or less. The Whitecaps are 6-10 in one-run games, including 3-7 at home.
"We've been in a lot of one-run games," Loy said. "It's big to get a win like this. Hopefully it'll get us on a roll. When a team gets hot, it's usually a game like this that starts it. It definitely gives us momentum."
