The "Ridge Racer" games once sat atop my list of racing favorites. I enjoyed the arcade-style exaggerated physics, the amusement of drifting around corners and edging out the competition in a close contest.
Unfortunately, in recent years the formula became stale, failing to evolve as games matured. So when publisher Namco Bandai announced "Ridge Racer Unbounded," I was pleased to see the company exploring a different take for its long-running series.
"Unbounded" takes its cues from the dormant "Burnout" series, focusing as much on destruction and spectacular crashes as on the racing.
