Q: I'm writing a short story set in London, and I'm trying to find out where it is exactly that stylish men go for high-end expensive menswear. You know, men who have plenty of money and like to look good -- what shops do they go to? It's kind of important
A: Primark? hehe
A blend of heritage brands, emerging names and contemporary labels all form part of the mix, with Savile Row presentations planned and London Fashion Week star Richard Nicoll revealing his first menswear collection.
Burberry, Esquire & Mr Porter, GQ and Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, Spencer Hart and Tom Ford will also host events.
Until this new initiative, menswear designers had to fight over a day-long schedule tacked on to the end of the four days dedicated to womenswear during the bi-annual London Fashion Week. The fashion councils in Paris and Milan already host well-established menswear fashion weeks twice a year.
I am looking for good quality menswear at reasonable prices. Marks and Spencer, BHS, Next and other such shops are way off the mark for me. I need new 100% cotton, long-sleeve shirts and cotton Chino trousers.
