Q: In 1979 to 1980, a Korean Arts Karate (Tang Soo Do) in Willingboro, NJ. Instructor was Robert L. Coia. The dojo was between on John F. Kennedy Way. and Beverly Rancocas Rd. in Willingboro, NJ. Did they closed or moved away? What is Kicho E Bu and Kicho

Korean martial arts master visits Taunton studio

Mendes Martial Arts in Taunton recently hosted a special visitor.

Great Grandmaster Song Ki Kim, 76, traveled to the Tang Soo Do studio in the Silver City from his home in Pyongtaek, South Korea, for his second straight year.

“He’s our leader for Tang Soo Do, and he’s responsible for a lot of the martial arts that came to the United States,” said Greg Mendes, owner of Mendes Martial Arts. “...This is now our second year hosting him, and our goal is to give the children and the students a chance to experience the history of Tang Soo Do through the Great Grandmaster.”
