Granted, it was a very large disco ball, but compared with those other bands that have rocked the Bradley Center in recent years, the show's strongest visual, which twirled majestically during "Everlasting Light," was decidedly low-tech. It was nevertheless perfect for the Keys, a retro-rock duo accustomed to doing more with less.
Armed with drums, guitar, vocals and serious chops, Akron, Ohio-raised Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney established some impressive sonic firepower 10 years and seven albums ago with beguiling, albeit repetitive, blues-rock jams. Then the Keys unlocked some irresistible, soul-indebted pop hooks on 2010's breakthrough "Brothers" and last year's superior "El Camino," leading to one of the most surprising and welcome rock success stories in recent years.
