Alamance County Historical Museum’s Tour of Terraces: Grand Outdoor Living will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at six homes in Burlington .

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour and can be purchased at the museum, located at 4777 N.C. 62 South, Burlington. Proceeds go to the Alamance County Historical Museum. For more details on the tour, visit alamancemuseum.org or call (336) 226-8254.

During the self-guided tour, ticketholders can visit:

•  Long Terrace, 2907 North Fairway Drive, Burlington. The terrace, of Pennsylvania blue stone, is surrounded by a curving stacked stone wall. A Charleston-style garden is located at the side entrance and a walkway is lined with boxwood and old-fashioned shrubs including daphne, gardenia, camellia, ferns and hostas. Greensboro landscape architect Chip Callaway of Callaway & Associates created the terrace and surrounding landscape. The home was built in 1966 by Mary Helen and Robert “Buddy” Long and is still owned by the family.
