Can a Bartlett pair tree pollinate with an Asian pear tree?
[2010-05-04 10:05:56]

Q: I've got two different Asian pear trees and I'm wondering if a Bartlett will pollinate with them? I'd like to add one. Thanks.
This is why yahoo "answers" is a complete waste of time. You get three different answers. Ridiculous.
Amazing.

A: Bees will cross pollinate but it doesn't mix the fruit maybe your thinking of a grafted specimen to cross 2 different pears together.

We have an asian pear tree, does it lose it's leaves in the winter?

(Untitled)

We live in the SF bay area, just planted an asian pear tree. The leaves are turning which could indicate the change in weather if the tree is suppose to lose it's leaves. If not then I might be watering it too much.

If your area is one where deciduous trees lose their leaves then this one will too. It is NOT an evergreen.

There was no family-style serving here. The guests, who paid $200 each for the event, were given a Tastings Menu-style Chinese feast.

The wait staff at Shun Lee Palace restaurant made a giant show of fawning over Chef Lee and serving the piece de la resistance: Hong Kong Fisherman Fried Lobster with chili garlic and Asian slaw. The lobster dish had more color than a New Year’s fireworks display, and gongs were struck. (No, really – it was a dinner cabaret so Broadway performers Welly Yang and Dina Morishita struck some gongs all night long.)

there are tons of holes in my asian pear tree, what should i do, is there a cure?

You have an insect problem. If you can catch one take it to your local garden center or greenhouse NOT HOME DEPOT OR LOWE's and ask them what to use. If you can't get one, take a branch and see if that will help them identify the bug.

what is the difference between a korean pear and an asian pear?
[2010-06-28 22:01:25]
Protector . . .

my friend gave me a korean pear before
then at a grocery store.. i saw the same pear but it said "asian pear" instead of "korean pear"
so i bought it and ate it (obviously ^__^)
they both tasted the same..

Your friend is obviously lying to you. The Asian Pear is the same exact thing as the Korean Pear. They are just called differently from different parts of the earth.
